THE NOT SO HUMBLE CHALLENGE FLAT WASHERS

Flat washers perform many forgotten functions - from seating and load distribution to "taking-up" of clearance holes and protection of surfaces. Challenge (Europe) Ltd stock flat washers in many types - bright steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, aluminium and fibre, to suit traditional and developing high technology industries whose requirements cover both metric and imperial dimensions. Key to Challenge customers is their product expertise and logistics support which operates on an international scale.

Challenge Flat washers conform to British, European and American standards, including BS4310, BS4320, DIN125, DIN433, NF27-611 and ASA BS27-2.

Clearly, while a flat washer is by definition - flat - there are none the less many features, such as chamfered edges, flange width and finish, that are key to their performance. Specialist consultation and quality production sources are crucial to component performance in all situations.

This includes functioning as a bearing surface or shim to take up endplay or for spacing and can demand very high load tolerance under arduous/corrosive conditions. Many levels of production specification are available with very high manufacturing tolerances now more important than ever.

Not only can Challenge offer all types of standard flat washer; they can also call on an inventory of over 10,000 dies for non-standard applications.
